7 NIGHTS, 8 DAYS TOUR IN CUBA.

DAY 1.

Arrive Havana, Transfer In and check in at Hotel Nacional or Habana Libre
Welcome reception and dinner at Casa de la Amistad or Club Habana
Havana's Harbour.

DAY 2

Morning: Breakfast at Hotel. City tour in Old Havana areas (the colonial town), guided by specialists and Cuban professors of Architecture. The oldest streets, squares, palaces, churches, a Franciscan Convent and the Cathedal.

“El Patio” restaurant. Havana.
Afternoon: Lunch at “El Patio” restaurant, by the Cathedral Square. Visit to Partagas Cigar Factory, where the world known “Habanos” is produced. Tour on Prado promenade (designed by French architect Forrestier, finishing in the Capitol Building, former Chamber of the Congress and now Museum of Natural Sciences.

Evening: Free

DAY 3

Morning: Breakfast at Hotel. Sightseeing tour in Vedado Neighborhood guided by top Cuban architects. Main Avenues, Eclectic mansions built in the 20´s (present Museo de Artes Decorativas and Casa de la Amistad, former residences of Condesa de Revilla de CMorningargo and Mrs. Catalina Lasa respectively) Over view of the main buildings constructed in the 50´s, Havana University and Colón Cemetery (a great piece of sculptural art).

Afternoon: Lunch at “El Floridita”, one of the Ernest Hemingway’s favorites restaurants in Havana. Visit to The National Fine Arts Museum. Cuban and Foreign paints. Plaza Vieja. Havana.

Evening: Lecture on CUBAN CULTURAL IDENTITY BY CUBAN HISTORIAN. Dinner at Hotel.

DAY 4

Morning: Breakfast at Hotel. Conference on the mixture of religions in Cuba throughout the time, beginning by the Catholicism brought to the Island by the Spaniards and the further incorporation of African cults brought with the African slaves. The lecturer will be one of the main researcher and writer on the topic within the island. Lunch at some restaurant in the City.
Malecón. Havana

Afternoon: Visit to the home of the Babalao of Guanabacoa (Santería priest) in the Guanabacoa district of Havana, where the Bantú and Yoruba temples will be shown, as well as the Capilla de San Lázaro (Chapel). In this place a general explanation of the religions and syncrethic sects in Cuba will be given. Then, the group will move to a cubicle containing religious icons with images of the various saints venerated by these religions, and the Babalao will explain the devotees what each of the saints means.
The group will continue on to the Large Salon to view a huge mural depicting the historical trajectory of African people in Cuba from the days of slavery to the present

Evening: Free


DAY 5

Morning: Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure to Cienfuegos. On the way to Cienfuegos, Visit a crocodile farm. Almuerzo en “El Galeon “ restaurant.
Explore Bay of Pigs and Giron Museum, where you will find vivid remembrances of the battle between National militias and Invading Brigade in 1961.

Afternoon: Arrival in Cienfuegos, PanorMorningic City tour in the Eclectic and Neoclassical French style areas, visit to the “Terry” theatre. Continuing travel to Trinidad, one of the first Villages founded by the Spaniards and declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage. Check in at Hotel “Las Cuevas”

DAY 6.

Morning: Breakfast at Hotel City Tour in the Old Town. Visit to Colonial Trinidad guided by an architect, emphasis on the oldest colonial areas which dated from 16th Century. Visit to the Valley of the Sugar Mills and Lunch at “Manacas – Iznaga Tower”. In this Valley, visit to the ruins of ancient sugar factories and barracks where the slaves lived.

Trinidad. Cuba.

Afternoon: Free time to enjoy the Ancón Beach, nautical sports.

Evening: Dinner at some restaurant in Colonial City areas.

 

DAY 7.

Morning: Breakfast at Hotel. Departure to Varadero Beach Resort. 12:00, Arrival in Varadero, lunch at “Josones” ranch. Accommodation at International Hotel.

Evening: Free time to enjoy the beach. Dinner at the Hotel restaurant.


DAY 8.

Morning: Breakfast at Hotel. Dep Free time to enjoy the beach and farewell lunch at “Las Morlas” restaurant, a former Dupont’s house. (This is a beautiful wooden house by the see shore, built by the Morningerican Millionaire in the 1920’s). Another variant could be to have a farewell Dinner the previous night at the Morninge place and depart by bus to Havana airport in the Morning. It depends on the returning flight schedule. Dire Direct transfer to Havana International airport to take the returning flight.
